Mean Time

We had a wonderful weekend visiting family, enjoying good food, wine and company. During the weekend we visited the Canary Wharf Jazz Festival, a fabulous free annual event in great outdoor surroundings. We listened to the music and watched the weather creating wonderful art on the buildings.

As nightime set in and we wandered home the setting sun illuminated the horizon

220 237The contrast as we headed towards the Thames Path with the bright lights of Canary Wharf and the undeveloped riverside was stark. 285The views toward the opulence of the financial district, where we could have been anywhere; it wasn’t uniquely London, it was any thriving heart of a financial institution. 305 325 331

The next day we wandered round Greenwich, the views of the Cutty Sark were stunning with the clouds trying hard to obliterate the stunning blue sky, creating a fabulous backdrop.347 349 350 The climb to the Observatory afforded us fabulous views towards the Naval College. 378And finally my favourite view as we wandered around the Painted Hall and I glanced up through the magnificent arched window and viewed the perfectly situated dome of the Chapel. 411
